Lake Pointe Elementary PTO Board Position Descriptions
In addition to attending all PTO meetings of the Executive Board and of the
General Membership, responsibilities include:
President
·
Presides at all organization meetings and serves as the primary liaison with the
Principal.
·
Supports the work of the officers and committees and serves as an ex-officio
member of all committees except Nominating and Audit committees.
VP Fundraising:
·
Preside at meetings in absence of the president.
·
Oversee all fundraising activities including, but not limited to:
Fall Carnival, Spring Bash, School Store, Spirit Nights, and Membership
Planner.
VP Membership:
·
Coordinate annual membership drive and maintains list of current members.
·
Supports fundraising VP’s in promotion of Membership Planner.
·
Coordinate general membership meetings.
VP Volunteers:
·
Conduct volunteer job fair and maintains list of volunteer contact information.
·
Coordinate volunteers for school and PTO committees or activities. Organize
volunteer appreciation events.
VP Programs:
·
Create and support both extra-curricular and curriculum-support programming,
including, but not limited to: art
show, showcase day, science fair, and Talent Show.
VP Communications:
·
Coordinate information flow between PTO and the LPE community via newsletter,
PTO newsflash, PTO website, Tuesday folders, and marquee.
·
Update PTO calendar weekly.
·
Liaison between PTO and outside media.
Secretary:
·
Prepare agenda for all Board and General Meetings.
·
Records and maintains minutes of all meetings.
·
Be responsible for correspondence and all records of the organization.
Treasurer:
·
Maintain custody of organization funds and make disbursements as approved.
·
Present a financial report at meetings.
·
Keep books of account and records and present to the audit committee.
Staff Appreciation:
·
Organize events to recognize LPE staff and faculty.
·
Coordinate Staff Appreciation Week, Spa Day and holiday decorations.
Grade Level Reps:
2 positions – representing Grades K-2 and 3-5.
·
Act as liaison and facilitate communication between faculty, staff, parents and
PTO board.
·
Host social gatherings for incoming kinder students.
