a contributing author to a math book. Please help spread the word that she will be
speaking! She spoke last year and was very well received. Does anyone have any
ideas for speakers for future meetings?
Babita suggests someone should speak about the Video Broadcasting System
at
our
next General Meeting to inform the general membership about how our funds
are being spent.
7. Programs: Page Ballard & Amanda Tennant – Family Science Night is
coming up, January 21, 2010 6:00-7:30. Suzanne Amberg is chairing it and it is
going to be great! They need small water bottles and any unused electronics
donated. Talent Show is going well. There is a meeting today at 2:00. There will
be 2 shows this year on January 29, 2010; a 5:30 show and a 7:30 show.
8. Staff Appreciation Committee: Amy Domecq – The Hot Chocolate Trolley
went well. The next luncheon will be a Super Bowl theme with a soup, salad, and
baked potato bar. February 8, 2010 will be Spa Day. We need lots of help! Door
Decorations need to be down by the 14th.

12.
New Business:
Amy Dolce - Staff Appreciation
Committee will e-mail what they decide
on what each
day for Teacher Appreciation will be.
A Nominating Committee needs to be formed soon. We will need 3 people for it.
Please put this in the newsletter, we need the committee by February 18th.
13. Principal: Heidi Gudelman - We are looking forward to the General Meeting
and hearing from Margaret. It is great to have someone as knowledgeable as her
in our community. Heidi is asking some staff to attend the meeting as well as
some people from the main office.
January-Staff Development will be going on; Gifted and Talented training as well
as some Language Arts training. Talent Show and the Spelling Bee are also
coming up. We said goodbye to Ms. Wiggins this morning and have welcomed a
new teacher, Ruth Lair. She is already on top of things in her classroom! Mrs.
Trimmer is working on tutorials. LPE was acknowledged by Just For Kids as one
of the top schools in the state! Our district’s rating dropped a little and this is due
mostly to the drop out rate at the high school level. May 14th Fourth Grade is
going on a Field Trip to the Alamo and May 5th Third Grade will go to the Austin
Nature and Science Center.
14. Meeting was adjourned at 10:29 a.m.
Respectfully submitted by Tiffany Todd.
