General Meeting Minutes
9/17/09

Meeting called to order at 8:01 a.m.

Motion to approve minutes from the August 27, 2009 General Meeting.  Motion seconded.  Motion approved.

Co-President - Amy Dolce – Membership Drive: classes with 75% membership.  (They win a gift certificate to McDonalds.)

Classes that reach 100% membership will earn a smoothie party.

Eagle Tots will start in October.  It will be the 1^st and 3^rd Monday of every month, from 1-3.  Contact Katy Turbeville with questions or to volunteer.

Staff Appreciation – Raquel Knox & Amy Domecq – Welcome Back breakfast was successful.  They will work the Staff Meeting next Thursday.

Anyone interested in helping with SAC, please contact them.

 Treasurer – Babita Deitrich

 Babita reviewed the P & L report for period ending 9/7/09.  Motion was made to approve the P & L report.  Motion seconded.  P & L was approved.

 Funding Requests: everything is within budget

 ·        Treasurer – Tax filings, bank fees, supplies, hard              $ 700.00

Fundraising – Kristi Jordan & Karla Ent – Please order Spirit Wear!  Deadline to order is September 25^th.  Every Friday is Spirit Day at school.

 Carnival is October 24^th.  Contact your room mom and sign up to volunteer for your class booth.  Sponsorships still available. 

 Spirit Nights: 1^st Tuesday of every month at Waterloo, they donate 5% of sales.  October 15^th at Chic-Fil-A, they donate 10% of sales to LPE. 

 Planners have coupons in them, please use them!

 Spanish Program – Laura Hopkins –Training of volunteers has been done.  23 classes are already under way with Spanish!  The rest will start soon.  Thanks to all the volunteers who will be teaching, as well as those who helped organize the Spanish materials.  Thanks to the PTO for supporting the program.  The curriculum has been improved and work is still being done on updating the website.  It should be done soon. 

 Co-Presidents – Lynn Ballard & Amy Dolce – Notice of additional tax:  

2% per hundred dollars goes directly to our district and this amount is NOT subject to “robin hood”.

 Volunteers at our school logged 20,181 hours last year with 55 Best Club Members! 

 Please log your hours and thanks for dedicating your time to our school!
