Campus ... Track and Field 2008
You know the end of school is near when the days get longer and warmer and summer camp information begins to pile up on your counter. But nothing commemorates the end of the school year quite like Track and Field Days where students come together for one last round of classroom fun and a little friendly competition.
The students will participate in many events such as the sack race, obstacle course, shuttle relay, long jump, egg race, and more. And, after the meet is over, they will have a picnic-style lunch on the field with their class. On the day of the event, make sure you send your child to school wearing their class shirt, tennis shoes, and sunscreen. Also, be sure to pack your child a sack lunch, a nutritious snack, and a water bottle.
Just like last year, each elementary school will hold the event individually on its home campus. Our event will be held right on our main field with just our LPE students. It will begin at 9 a.m. and wrap up around noon. Families are welcome to watch and cheer from around the perimeter of the field. To keep it all manageable, only badged volunteers working the event will be allowed on the field with the students. You can bring a chair to sit in, but we must ask that you not bring shade tents and staked umbrellas.
The Track and Field event is one of the most exciting events in this school and is brought to life each year by our great elementary PE staff members. But an event of this magnitude could not happen without the help and support of many volunteers. Thanks to all those who signed up to help.
Mark your calendars ... this is an event you won't want to miss.
